CRITERIA
THE ACADEMIC CRITERIA
In this section, the specifications will be outlined, stating the certain academic
characteristics needed for the student to be eligible:
The winning student is chosen by the teaching administration of the participating school.
The eligible student must attain/attain the equivalent to a Grade One or a Grade One and Grade Two in the Caribbean Examination Council's subject area of English Language and Literature. The eligible student must have completed BOTH of these subjects. If there is no student who fits this criteria, we will allow for the most improved student overall, in both CXC subjects.
The eligible student must show an avid and undeniable interest in the Reading of
given text and other educational literature during and outside of class hours.
The eligible student must maintain active participation in English Language and
Literature classes, as well as other academic classes.
These are the academic requirements needed for the prospective student to be deemed
eligible to receive this award.
THE MORAL CRITERIA
In this section, the specifications will be outlined, stating the certain moral
characteristics needed for the student to be eligible:
The eligible student must be punctual for school 80 % of the school term. Allowance is made for medical, and school-approved absence.
The eligible student must be respectful and obedient to all teachers and staff.
The eligible student must be respectful to fellow classmates.
The eligible student must be tidy in general appearance and maintain a pleasant
decorum.
The eligible student must respect personal property, the institution’s physical
surroundings, and the environment.
These are the specific moral requirements needed for the prospective student to be
eligible for this award.
